About CARLY

My Story

I turned to Pilates after 2 big babies and C-sections. I was struggling with back pain and overall lack of strength, particularly core strength partly from Diastasis recti (abdominal muscle separation). I needed to feel stronger.

Pilates changed my life.

I fell in love with how feeling strong and improving my mobility and flexibility felt and wanted to help others. Noticing how incorporating other movement practices enhanced my training. A lover of Yoga and understanding the importance of mobility and resistance training, I love mixing things up.

I trained and qualified in Mat Pilates at FutureFit London in 2022. I quit the day job, threw myself into building Redfly Pilates and never looked back!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Redfly Pilates right for me?

Beginners are welcome and all classes are mixed ability. Most exercises can be adapted and modified. You will need to be able to move freely from floor to standing and have the all clear from your medical practitioner.  Everyone begins from a unique baseline shaped by their anatomy, and life experience.

“Start where you are.

 Use what you have.

Do what you can.”  -Arthur Ashe

Most of us are the same! The hardest part is turning up. The rest is easy! Redfly Pilates is more than just a workout. For many, it’s the one hour in the week away from work/home and stress. A place to feel seen and supported and have the freedom to breathe, move and take back ownership of their body. Confidence is built and transformation begins.

We also have a laugh!

You need your own mat. Although please ask if you’d like to borrow one. Comfy clothes to move in. Bare feet are ideal or grip socks if preferred. A drink, small towel for head/knee/hip/comfort or support. Equipment is always provided but very welcome to bring your own.

Redfly Pilates LOVES equipment! Small Balls, Magic Circle, Long resistance bands, small resistance bands, Light weights, Pilates Bar.

Here’s why… it adds resistance, improves stability by challenging balance. It can wake up muscles that traditional mat work can miss. Equipment can also help with the exercise, providing support and alignment. Ultimately, tapping into that all important mind-muscle connection.

Classes are £11 for one full hour. Classes are paid in advance in monthly block bookings after your first class. A small commitment to yourself that helps you stay on track. This block payment reserves your space in the class requested for the month ahead. If you’re unable to make your class, a swap to another class within that block may be permitted if there is space and with prior arrangement.
